The Salon Professional Academy(TSPA), Ft Myers’ students and teachers had the privilege of showing off their skill at the Lee County Golden Apple Recognition Banquet in 2015.
Their amazing skills were shown on stage as we had the opportunity to work with each of the award nominees and recipients prior to the event.
A Program for Those Often Forgotten
Thirty years ago the Golden Apple Teacher Recognition Program was founded and developed by The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, Inc. It began as a way to recognize outstanding teachers in their district. The foundation has awarded over 150 teachers with its coveted Golden Apple.
Since the nominees are open to the public, it allows parents, teachers, and administrators to nominate teachers in the Lee County Schools who have gone above and beyond to impact their schools and their students. Each year they see more than 2,000 nominations. Among those, they are then narrowed down to 30 finalists.
A Night to Remember
From those thirty finalists, only six recipients are chosen. Announced at an elegant black-tie gala, these extraordinary instructors are honored in a way not often seen.
It is at this event that the students at The Salon Professional Academy, Ft Myers were truly able to shine, creating glamorous looks for many of the recipients to prepare them for the big event.
We are proud of our students for being willing and eager to provide amazing services to these nominees. We wish each of them luck as they attend an event that recognizes so many.
